DESCRIPTION
In addition to being incredibly lightweight the Desert Microlite has a high leg which is unlined for minimal moisture absorption and maximum breathability. The sole has strong torsional and flex resistance - ideal for rough desert terrain, and the Micro layer in the sole gives excellent shock absorption. We made our first Desert boots in 1994 for a unit of soldiers from Catterick Garrison going on exercise to the Oman. On their return they gave us some great feedback on improvements we could make and that’s how the now legendary Altberg Desert Microlite was developed. Since then it’s been used on active service by soldiers in Kuwait, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan and it’s still our most popular Desert boot.
It was used by Levison Wood in his TV series ‘Walking the Nile’.
NOTE: with suede boots - always dry very slowly, follow the instructions in the Altberg suede boot user guide. Please also see video on Suede Boots - Drying Out & Treatment.
