DESCRIPTION

Altbergs new E.O.D. Bomb disposal boot is non metallic for use with metal detectors. Protection has been increased by the use under foot of a specially woven fabric, similar to that worn in stab proof protective vests. 

Around the lower foot and lower ankle is a thinner 1mm layer of the same stab proof material so fragment protection is improved around ankle and metatarsals. The layer of protective material is sandwiched in between the lining and the leather upper. Tests carried out by SATRA, an independent footwear test laboratory, showed that penetration resistance under the foot was equal, and at times, exceeded that of steel.

Around the foot a comparative test, also carried out indpendently by SATRA, showed an average increase in penetration resistance from 202 Newtons to 461 Newtons. It is impossible to avoid injury when in proximity to an explosion and Altberg absolutely does not claim this for their E.O.D. boot.

SIZE & FITTING ADVICE

XN - We don’t normally sell extra narrow by mail order or online, only when a customer has previously worn Altberg boots or is sure of their fitting. 
N - If you have narrow feet, then we suggest that you keep with your normal shoe size. 
M - For medium feet we suggest that you go up ½ a size on your SHOE size – this will allow for a thick sock with the boots. 
W - For wide feet we suggest that you go up ½ a size on your SHOE size – this will allow for a thick sock with the boots. 
XW - We don’t normally sell extra wide by mail order or online, only when a customer has previously worn Altberg boots or is sure of their fitting
